In celebration of its tenth year, the annual writing contest kicks off January 3 with a new look. The Missoula Writes contest invites writers of all ages to compete for cash prizes in the categories of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Cash prizes will be awarded to 36 winners – three for fiction, three for non-fiction and three for poetry in each of four age groups: 8-10, 11-14, 15-18, and 19+. The first place winners with receive $100, second place will receive $50 and third place will win $25. Generous community sponsors fund these cash awards totaling $2,100.
