Gus Chambers

Host and MontanaPBS Producer

Gus Chambers is a long-time rotating host for Freeforms.

Now that "trick or treat" is over, are your trees full of toilet paper? Did the cat run away for good? Is your living room littered with wrappers?

It’s a regular ‘potluck Freeforms’ this Wednesday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. on Montana Public Radio.

“ No time for a thoughtful presentation. I’m just going with what the station has on hand,” remarks Gus Chambers, your 4th Wednesday of every month Freeforms host.

It takes about 24 songs to fill a typical Freeforms Show. Less if you’re playing a lot of Carla Bley. I bring in 26 in case the show runs short, but invariably I never get around to playing the last two. They’re the "tail end" to Freeforms.

Now – let’s do some math. With 12 shows a year and 2 extra songs per show. Ca-Ching! That’s right! This show just made itself! It’s like it was meant to be!

Gus Chambers tells Morning Classics host, Susan Israel “Hey!  Scooch over a little bit.  It’s time for  Freeforms”.

Chambers races to the station the fourth Wednesday of every month to host Freeforms, a gritty mix of funk, blues, country, seedy taverns and flickering street lamps.

The rain soaked streets will be safe this Wednesday between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Israel responds, “Who’s driving this crate?  Me or You?

Tune in to Wednesday Freeforms at 11:00 a.m. on your radio or online.

Gus Chambers, half man and half ant, or MANT, will host the Halloween Freeforms Special, Wednesday October 28 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The show will begin with a giant insect invasion, and then spiral downhill with back to back zombie attacks.
