Joan Richarde is the Host and Producer of Oasis, Jonkunnu Express, CityLights, Dance Party, Ensemble and Sojourn. She also hosts & produces Blues on the Move, Night Flight, and Muse's Jukebox, in rotation with other MTPR host/producers.
The Jonkunnu Express rolls through your radio each Saturday night. The show features music of African peoples from the Mediterranean Sea to the Cape of Good Hope, as well as music of the Caribbean islands including Jamaica, Cuba, Barbados, Haiti, Puerto Rico, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and more. Locally produced by Montana Public Radio.
Muse's Jukebox presents an eclectic mix of rock, folk, jazz and pop. This show goes wherever the Muse takes it, with each week's rotating host giving the show a distinct flavor. Muse's Jukebox is a favorite with listeners, for Friday night get-togethers with friends or just chillin' at home.
The Muse's Jukebox theme music is "Blues for H.P." by Houston Person.
Recorded blues from early roots to current hits, as well as classic rhythm & blues, southern soul and occasional gospel are featured on this weekly program produced by Montana Public Radio.
Oasis features electronic and acoustic New Age music. The impressionists called them tone poems. These days it’s called New Age: emotional, inspirational, flowing music for Sunday night locally produced by Montana Public Radio.
Sojourn highlights the New Age, Celtic Instrumental and World Music genres. This program features new releases, most often in their entirety. Host Joan Richarde plays the full CD as a way of introducing the audience to the artist or group in a more complete way than is generally done on most programs. Sometimes quiet and sometimes more energetic, Sojourn is locally produced by Montana Public Radio.
From sock hop to hip hop, the Friday Night Dance Party will get you off the couch and moving. It might be slow dances and 50's love songs, 60's rock or soul and 70's funk, techno re-mixes or Tennessee waltzes... it's all about dancin'.
Joan Richarde hosts this program (with occasional help from John Myers and Olivia Sears), locally produced by Montana Public Radio.
Music from the soul of the city...post-modern, alternative, new psychedelic, music from the 1980's to the present day. City Lights is produced locally by Joan Richarde at Montana Public Radio.
