Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF bark beetles not invited to the picnic

Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest

As we recently told you, the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest will soon begin applying insecticides in popular recreation areas.

In this feature interview, the Beaverhead-Deerlodge's re-forestation forester, Bruce Schuelke, tells Edward O'Brien the spraying's necessary to protect valuable areas that could be threatened by the mountain pine beetle.

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
