"A good song is a good song," says singer & musician Jeni Fleming from Bozeman. As long as she identifies with the lyrics, "everything else is negotiable." Fleming joins Michael Marsolek to preview her upcoming performance at St. Timothy's Music Festival on Sunday July, 24.
St. Timothy's describes her style this way:
From classic jazz standards from composers such as Gershwin, Cole Porter and Jobim, to re-arranged pop hits by Cyndi Lauper, The Grateful Dead, or The Beatles, Jeni defies easy classification simply saying in defense “a good song is a good song.” Her signature ballads drip with so much emotion that an audience member suggested adding Kleenex boxes on each chair in her Tech Rider.
Montana Public Radio is proud to be a media partner of St. Timothy’s Summer Music Festival, which has been showcasing Montana’s musical talent for 22 years. The music continues all summer at St. Timothy's. Four young musicians from across Montana follow on August 7, and the String Orchestra of the Rockies will wrap up the season on August 21.
