Buddy Defranco Career Highlights During 'What I Like About Jazz'

This week, The University of Montana hosts the annual Buddy DeFranco Jazz Festival. During What I Like About Jazz," Wednesday night, we'll take a look at Buddy's career, as well as some of the guest artists and clinicians.

What I Like About Jazz host John Arvish showcases Buddy DeFranco in a variety of settings, including cuts with Terry Gibbs, Martin Taylor, Oscar Peterson, Lionel Hampton and Art Tatum.

You'll also hear from bassist Marlene Rosenberg, pianist Reggie Thomas, drummer Gary Hobbs and trumpeter Derrick Gardner, all of whom are scheduled to appear at the Festival.

Chérie Newman is a former arts and humanities producer and on-air host for Montana Public Radio, and a freelance writer.
