The Cascade String Quartet and The Chinook Winds Quintet, Together In Concert

Sunday, January 26th, 2014: Michael Marsolek talks with Madison Johnson, violist with the Cascade Quartet, and Elizabeth Crawford, bassoonist with the Chinook Winds Quintet, about joint concerts that feature both of the Great Falls Symphony's professional chamber groups.

The concerts take place Sunday, Jan.26th, 2 p.m., at the First Congregational/Christ United Methodist Church in Great Falls; and Tuesday, Jan. 28th, 7 p.m., at the C.M. Russell Museum. Tickets are available at the door and by phone at (406) 453-4102, or from the ticket page of the Symphony's website. 

On the program: François Devienne’s "Quartet in C Major" written for bassoon, violin, viola and cello; Mozart’s “Horn Quintet K.407”  (which will include former Cascade Quartet violist, Jennifer Smith);  Arthur Honegger's "Three Counterpoints," for flute, oboe, violin and cello; and Brahms's "Clarinet Quintet, Opus 115."
