Cuban journalist working to save historic Havana

A Cuban historic preservation expert and journalist is in Montana this week, speaking about the effort to restore historic buildings in Havana.

Magda Resik Aguirre is the Director of Communications for the City Historian of Havana, and also the creator of Havana Radio. In this feature interview, Aguirre talks with News Director Sally Mauk about the effort to preserve a city that was founded in the 16th century. (The translator is University of Montana Professor Rafael Chacon).

 

Retired in 2014 but still a presence at MTPR, Sally Mauk is a University of Kansas graduate and former wilderness ranger who has reported on everything from the Legislature to forest fires.
