The federal government has rejected Montana’s request for 44 million dollars in disaster aid for last year’s wildfires.

A historic Whitefish building designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Write is being demolished this evening.

Attorneys for about 80 people with claims of sexual abuse against former priests and other employees of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Great Falls-Billings want to move their cases forward.

Montana Governor Steve Bullock’s office is laying off about half a dozen staff positions and moving two to part time as a result of state budget cuts.

Plans call for the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree to be hauled back to Montana starting next week. Organizers hope the wood will be used to rebuild the historic Sperry Chalet in Glacier National Park which was destroyed in a wildfire last summer.
