Education officials and advocates are pressing Montana senators to add money to the next state budget where the House wouldn't… in public schools and universities. A senate committee listened to testimony today.

Republican state lawmakers are seeking to retake control of the narrative regarding public lands access.

Montana’s Historical Society has been asking state lawmakers for help to build a new building for years. In the last legislative session it narrowly missed getting the OK to issue bonds for construction. Now, a Republican lawmaker is proposing it sell off parts of it’s collection to pay for a new museum.

Nearly a dozen brewers testified at the Montana legislature today on a bill that would raise a small brewery’s production cap six fold.

A contentious bill that would allow counties to opt for mail-in ballots for the upcoming special election to fill now Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s vacated congressional seat is advancing in the Legislature.

About 150 people came to a campaign event in Missoula Wednesday for U.S. House Candidate Rob Quist. The Democrat called it a ‘rally for public lands.'
