Democratic U.S. House candidate Kathleen Williams says if elected she would not support Nancy Pelosi as the party's leader in the House.

Fire danger bumped up to “very high” on the Kootenai National Forest today (7/18). Crews are holding the Zulu Fire, burning about 23 miles north of Libby, to 20 acres.

One of two lightning-caused fires discovered on the Bitterroot National Forest yesterday is growing rapidly. The Reynolds Lake fire is zero percent contained says Forest Spokesman Tod McKay.

In eastern Montana, several fires are reported to have crews actively working to contain them. Along the Musselshell and Yellowstone county border, the Sando Fire has reportedly burned around 130 acres after it was discovered yesterday afternoon.

Sen. Jon Tester and the president of the Montana Grain Growers Association both spoke in Congress today about negative effects they say President Trump’s trade policies are having on Montana farmers.

A judge declined to throw out several charges alleging Troy Downing did not live in Montana when he bought less costly resident hunting licenses.
