This morning, Governor Steve Bullock won a second term, and secured the Democrats' 12-year hold on the governor's office for another four years by defeating Republican challenger Greg Gianforte. 

Montana voters may have successfully reversed severe restrictions state lawmakers imposed on medical marijuana, but patients will have to wait nearly eight months before they can step into a dispensary again. 

The Gallatin County sheriff says he might not take four deputies to North Dakota, as he’d planned, to help law enforcement officers keep the peace during the Dakota Access oil pipeline protest on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

Govorner Steve Bullock's successful re-election bid was one bright spot for Democrats, who learned today as the final results came in, that Republican candidates swept the four other statewide offices and held on to the state's only U.S. House seat.

Yellowstone National Park saw fewer visitors last month than it did in October of last year, but the year-to-date total is already ahead of the record numbers for all of 2015.

Republican leaders say Democratic Governor Steve Bullock will be forced to shift politically in their direction after the GOP maintained decisive majorities in both the state House and Senate.
