A wildfire fueled by high winds and dry conditions ripped through Glacier County yesterday, in what experts call an "unusual" occurrence for this time of year.

Another fire Sunday destroyed a popular western Montana restaurant. Authorities say the fire at the Nine Mile House located off Highway 10 near the town of Huson (HEW-son) began around 10:30 last night.

Missoula is getting more direct flights next summer. American Airlines and the Missoula International Airport announced today that direct service will begin in June for a seasonal route from Chicago and a year-round direct connection with Dallas.

The Tax Foundation says the revised Republican plan to cut federal taxes would leave the country with an estimated $448 billion in deficits over the next decade. But Montana's GOP Congressman Greg Gianforte defends the proposal.

A recent report says the Lame Deer jail regularly houses more inmates than it was built to hold. The jail was built for just 19 inmates, but a recent annual report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics found that it regularly houses as many as 45.
