A proposal to claw back funds for public media has already passed the House of Representatives. Montana Public Radio and stations across the country receive critical federal funds to strengthen our work. The Senate could vote on the proposal in the coming days. Farmers Market a Saturday tradition in Missoula

Justin Steck

Every Saturday from May through October, part of downtown Missoula is transformed into an open-air farmer's market reminiscent of those found in Europe. Families and friends, fueled by coffee and pastries, gather at "the best place to take out-of-towners", according to the voters of the Missoula Independent's annual "Best of Missoula" survey. The Missoula Farmer's Market began in 1972 and continues to be a staple for purchasing the best of what the Missoula area has to grow. Reporter Justin Steck  recently visited with vendors and shoppers about what makes this market special.
