Girl Killed In Foys Lake Fire Identified

The Flathead County Sheriff’s office has identified the 8-year-old-girl who died in a motor home fire yesterday.

Her name is Autumn Hawk.

Undersheriff Dave Lieb said dispatch received a report of a “fire and explosions” near Foys Lake a little before 10:00 am yesterday. When firefighters arrived they found a motorhome engulfed in flames.

“Once the fire was contained by fire department personnel, we searched the area around the fire," Lieb said. "The fire was confined to a small motor home that was parked next to a garage. Between the garage and the motor home, we found the body of a small child.”

According to authorities, Hawk’s parents managed to escape the fire. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of burns, but weren’t admitted.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
