Hamilton's Rocky Mountain Labs researchers help crack a viral mystery

U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases scientists say a drug combination may prove useful in treating an emerging respiratory virus that's proven fatal outside the United States.


     Research conducted at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton, Montana was key to this discovery.

The latest information  from the World Health Organization shows the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus had infected 114 people  and resulted in 54 deaths as of September 7th.
        In this  feature interview, Dr Darryl Falzarano - a visiting fellow at R-M-L - explains how he and his colleagues found a drug combination that is showing promise in treating this new and frequently fatal infection.
