The MTPR family is sad to announce that John Myers, a longtime host of the afternoon Folk Show and late night music programs, died Wednesday evening at his home after a long battle with cancer.
John's knowledge of music was as big as his heart. He also produced special programs commemorating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King and shared his quick wit and humor during our pledge drives.
We will miss his voice and his laugh. Our condolences to his wife, Teresa, and his family and friends. Memorial plans are pending.
John's wife Teresa also shared this story about their wedding. If you knew John, it'll put a smile on your face.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to MTPR or other favorite nonprofits.
