Juneau On Trump: 'Enough Is Enough'

Denise Juneau, the Democratic candidate for Montana's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, gave these comments to the media Saturday afternoon, after Donald Trump's taped comments from 2005 about women became public Friday.

Juneau says, "To quote a tweet that Donald Trump sent out this morning, 'it’s been an interesting 24 hours.' Yesterday, the world got to hear what Donald Trump thinks of half of our population. The Republican nominee for president has absolutely no respect for women and admitted to treating them with contempt and violence. Anyone who still supports him is complicit in his comments."

"Montana’s own Congressman Ryan Zinke has endorsed Donald Trump and made excuses for him every step of the way," says Juneau. "Earlier this week, Congressman Zinke said with a smile on his face that Donald Trump doesn’t offend women more than he offends anyone else."

Juneau says, "Enough is enough. Montanans are better than this and they demand better from those who represent them. Trump’s strongest supporters in Congress are distancing themselves from him. Many are refusing to vote for him, but Congressman Zinke continues stand by his man, no matter what. Congressman Zinke is more concerned with losing Trump support than doing what’s right."

"On behalf of Montana’s 500,000 mothers, daughters and sisters and the hundreds of thousands of men who find these comments appalling, I’m calling on Congressman Zinke to withdraw his support from candidate Trump," says Juneau. "And he must apologize to all Montanans for joking about Trump’s consistently degrading language. This is not hard. In fact, it’s the easiest test of leadership. Montanans are watching."
