A new report from the White House says around three-quarters of Montanans shopping for health insurance on Healthcare.gov will be able to find coverage for less than $75 per month.
Back in September, it was reported that monthly premiums were expected to rise upwards of 55 percent per month.
The new report says more than 80 percent of Montanans who don’t get health coverage elsewhere qualify for tax credits that can bring the cost of coverage down.
In addition, the White House says an estimated 14,000 Montanans currently paying full price for private health insurance could be eligible for those tax breaks if they were to switch to the healthcare.gov Marketplace.
The report says there’s an average of 21 plans to choose from, with different combinations of premiums, out-of-pocket costs, networks of hospitals and physicians, and prescription drug coverage options.
People can start shopping on the website now, with open enrollment for 2017 starting on November 1st.
Enrollment ends on January 31st.
