Whitefish-native Maggie Voisin is competing at the Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea on Friday night, in the women’s slopestyle skiing event.

At a bar in Whitefish, locals are sure to turn out tonight to cheer on nineteen-year-old Voisin. She spoke with NBC Sports in January after clinching her spot on Team USA.

"I'm just taking it day by day, not trying to get ahead of myself. Of course, this is a big confidence boost going into Pyeongchange, " said Voisin.

Voisin qualified for the 2014 Games in Sochi but broke her fibula during a training run and was unable to compete.

Voisin competes in Pyeongchang fresh off winning the 2018 XGames in Aspen. She’s the first American woman to ever win XGames gold.

The Olympic slopestyle event airs on NBC Friday, February 16. Preliminaries start at 6. The final begins at 9.
