The state of Montana has settled a lawsuit with retired state and local government employees that will allow them to keep a 3 percent annual increase in pension benefits.

Montana’s Public Service Commission yesterday refused to stop Liberty Utilities from trying to buy the parent company of Mountain Water, Missoula’s water utility.

Crews are working to restore power to Glendive after a severe thunderstorm with up to 120 mph winds knocked out much of the city's power. The Billings Gazette reports that powerful straight-line winds damaged buildings, tipped over grain bins and flattened power lines Monday night.
