A Musical Snapshot Of Alison Krauss In 2000

From the “Musicians’ Spotlight” archives, 2000: One of the most respected and celebrated musicians of her generation, fiddler and vocalist extraordinaire Alison Krauss visited with program host John Floridis backstage at the University Theater in Missoula in 2000. The winner of 27 Grammy awards, Allison discussed her then-recent album, “Forget About It,” as well which qualities a song she arranges for Union Station tends to have. A very successful musician at the time of this interview, her career was about to take off to even greater heights with her contributions to “O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

(Broadcast: "Musicians' Spotlight,"  3/16/17. Listen weekly on on the radio Thursdays, 7:30 p.m., or via podcast.)

John Floridis, the host and producer of Musician's Spotlight, has been with Montana Public Radio since 1997. He has interviewed over 200 musicians during that time. He is also an independent recording and performing artist in his own right and a former registered music therapist.
