Pioneer conservationist reflects on his 50 years of activism

Like many, Brock Evans fell in love with Glacier National Park the minute he set eyes on it - and his first visit there as a young man began his lifelong commitment to conservation.

Evans is a past lobbyist for the Sierra Club, and current president of the national Endangered Species Coalition. His career as an environmental activist spans 50 years. Evans returned to Montana this week to lecture and visit old friends.

"All Americans love the earth, love their land; it doesn't matter what party you are."

In this feature interview, Evans talks with News Director Sally Mauk about the environmental movement, and his ongoing passion for conservation.

Retired in 2014 but still a presence at MTPR, Sally Mauk is a University of Kansas graduate and former wilderness ranger who has reported on everything from the Legislature to forest fires.
