Ravalli County group working to fill local health care gap

Backers of an outreach program to provide basic health care services to under served women in Ravalli County say there are precious-few low income, health care options available locally.
Ravalli County's Sapphire Community Health Center was the only state-funded community health center in the county. It closed its doors several years ago.
In this feature interview with Edward O'Brien, Dixie Stark, the vice-chair of the Sapphire Community Health Corporation, says the ongoing effort to open a new clinic that would provide basic - but badly needed - health care services.

Edward O’Brien first landed at Montana Public Radio three decades ago as a news intern while attending the UM School of Journalism. He covers a wide range of stories from around the state.
