Bison and snowcoaches share the road in Yellowstone National Park.

Yellowstone National Park will open select roads and services for the season Friday April 20, and entry fees will be waived the following Saturday to celebrate National Park Week.

While some of the Yellowstone’s roads will be open, the road between between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris may remain closed because of unsafe driving conditions.

Also, a road construction area, about 5 miles between Willow Park and Roaring Mountain, is unpaved, and deeply rutted with construction crews working in the area.

A park press release said Tuesday that until the road construction area opens, plan to travel to Old Faithful and Canyon via the West Entrance.

The park’s opening is  in line with past year’s opening dates.
