Wondering When Old Faithful Erupts Next? There's An App For That

Yellowstone National Park officials hope a smartphone and tablet app sparks curiosity about science and the nation's park system.

The app called "NPS Yellowstone Geyers".

Park spokesman Al Nash says it helps users find out when Old Faithful and five other predictable geysers could erupt.

"We're looking to see how we can harness technology to help us better serve visitors."

Nash says, the geyser app not only features a live webcam of Old Faithful, it also "helps people understand that there are some other geysers that they may want to check out that we can predict and it drives them to a place where they can find out more information about this amazing place should they choose to do so."

The "NPS Yellowstone Geysers" app is available in both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
