Interested in volunteering for Montana Public Radio? Take a minute to fill out our volunteer form and tell us what interests you! Provide us with your contact information and we will be in touch.
Call our members
Put in a friendly call of appreciation to our members and thank them for being a member. These calling sessions happen twice a month during the evening hours, 5 - 7pm.
Join us in the phone room to take pledge calls from Montana Public Radio listeners phoning in their pledge of support. When you volunteer this way, you will have the opportunity to see our on air hosts in action. We ask new phone room volunteers to please attend a one hour computer training session offered prior to our pledge drives. Our on air pledge drives occur in October and April every year.
Learn how to take a call and enter the caller's pledge into our live database. If it's your first time volunteering to answer phones, we highly recommend that you view the training video or attend one of these one hour (or less) training sessions. Several sessions are held in the KUFM studio, PARTV Building (Performing Arts & Radio/TV Center), the University of Montana campus, Missoula.
Front Office Help
Greet visitors of the station while you lend your alphabetizing expertise to Sue in our front office by filing pledge forms.
Be a food runner! It doesn't take much time, and is a huge help. This job involves picking up a meal from one of Missoula's great restaurants and delivering it to the station phone room. Breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Pre Packaging/Mailing Premiums (Thank you gifts)
During our annual Spring Pledge Drive, we offer hundreds of donated items as thank you gifts to our members who pledge their support during the drive. We need volunteers before the drive to help organize these items, and then after the drive to help package and mail them to our supporters.
KUFM always needs help promoting our drives! Many businesses and community establishments are willing to hang our posters for a time before our pledge drives and we are always looking for volunteers willing to get them there. This can often be worked into your day as you stop in to the grocery store you frequent, or the library, or while on the University of Montana campus. If you happen to travel outside of Missoula, and still within our listening area, take some posters with you! There are many businesses around the state that support Montana Public Radio.
If you've never volunteered before and would like to be contacted when future opportunities come up, please follow the link to our volunteer form and provide us with your contact information.
Thank you for donating your time to Montana Public Radio! YOU make this station possible.
If you have questions about being a volunteer, please contact Membership and Volunteer Coordinator, Suzanne Grist, 243-4988.
