New Poll Shows Zinke Far Ahead Of Juneau

A new Lee Newspapers poll shows Republican incumbent Ryan Zinke leading Democratic challenger Denise Juneau by a wide margin in the race for Montana’s seat in the U.S. House.

The Lee poll, performed by the Mason-Dixon polling firm shows Zinke leading Juneau by a margin of 53 percent to 40 percent.

The Juneau campaign cast doubt on the poll, telling Lee that Mason-Dixon incorrectly predicted two tight Montana races in 2012.

"The trend over time for us hasn’t shown that type of gap," Juneau said. "I think when we move this election forward and people actually get a look at the candidates and their record of accomplishment the poll on Election Day is going to show us winning."

The Zinke campaign says their polling is consistent with what Lee Newspapers found.
